Music is the largest connection language among the people
Helô Tenório is a brazilian singer, instrumentalist, composer and vocal coach. She has pass by various countries through music; unlimited and direct artistic expression. She is graduated in Classical Singing from UFRJ – Brazil (2011), and has attended to the course “Bachelor in jazz studies” at West Virginia University – USA (2010) with a scholarship granted by the Brazilian government wich enables her to develop a big connection with jazz and instrumental music.
At the beginning of her artistic career she has acted as a classical singer, which enabled her to sing in important theaters in Rio de Janeiro with renowned maestros including the Municipal Theater of RJ, Sala Cecília Meireles and Cidade da Música. She participated in the project “Music in the Museum” and was a member of the “Rio de Janeiro Symphonic Choir”.
In 2010, she attended to a jazz course at West Virginia University in the USA where she had contact and influence from big bands of jazz, soul, gospel and blues bands. In the US. She performed with the group “Supimpa” and has made part of the gospel choir at the Black Methodist Church. On her return to Brazil in 2011, Helô Tenório started to work in several big bands in Rio de Janeiro. In the year of 2014 she has made her first trip to Europe to present brazilian music in some cities of Germany as: Frankfurth and Köln and in Prague-Czech Rep.
In the year 2015, she participated in the festival “Umbria Jazz” at Perugia during the “jazz clinics” of Berklee College of music- a jazz immersion course. Right after she leaves for Germany (Munich and Berlin) to perform Brazilian music in jazz clubs and does a series of shows in Portugal with one of her collaborators and returns to Brazil.
As a vocal coach she has been working for more than 10 years in the market and taught in the most well-known private schools in Rio de Janeiro, including courses in musical theater, vocal preparation for theater and film casts. She participated in singing congresses in Brasilia and São Paulo. In 2016 she created in Italy (Sicily) an international course for vocalists: “Brazil and Jazz Vocal Sessions” – an immersion course in the Brazilian language of music with na instrumentalist approach, in collaboration with her italian partner, the jazz singer Francesco Centarrì. with a great repercussion of the Italian media. She is currently working on the creation of her new album, the production of the event “Conexão Vocal”, her book “A Voz Brasileira Instrumental” – part of her master’s project – a method of vocal improvisation for brazilian music.
